In/Out (Performance), 2013
Performing Art, Installation
Through this project I wish to use body movement, image and music to embody the contradictory struggle in the discovery of oneself and the journey that people may experience throughout their life. The body of the work is a fluid, active construct, not static fixed one. I, myself create a suit that would symbolise a womb which I inhabit and attempt through movement to break free of. The body movement inside the womb intend to stir feelings of struggle. During this performance moving images shall be projected, portraying contrasting elements to my movement. Through the performance, I intend to depict the restlessness of hybrid identity and double consciousness.
